• Can you help me with designing or developing my site?
  
  Of course. Tropical Web Works is a full-service design, development and hosting firm.
  
  Design and development is charged for separately from our hosting. Please use our Quote Request Form for assistance with your site development. The more details you can provide, the better able we'll be to tailor our quote to meet your needs.
• What does it cost to have you design my site?
  
  Well, that's like asking "How long is a piece of string?"
  
  The answer is, it depends. It depends on what your objectives are for the site: Do you want to sell products online? Generate leads? Provide product information for existing customers? Provide a procedure for customer interaction with your sales force?
  
  It depends on what kind of design you need, how many pages your site will include, whether you need custom graphics developed, whether you need our assistance with copywriting, whether you'll be providing us with content in digital format, whether your site will consist only of static html pages or will include any dynamically generated content.
  
  Unlike many design firms, Tropical Web Works doesn't churn out look-alike sites using a cookie-cutter template. We don't promise a "5-page site overnight for $400" because the limitations inherent in such an approach virtually guarantee that you would end up with 5 pretty useless pages that don't help you or your business.
  
  Please use our Quote Request Form to request a quote, and please provide us with as many details as you can. We'll work with you to develop a proposal for a site that will meet your needs and help you obtain your objectives while staying within your budget.
  
  For the record, if you want a 5-page site that contains only static html pages and maybe a contact form with a half-dozen information fields, and if you would be providing all of the text and images in digital format, we can probably do it for about $300-$500.
• How much input can I have into my design?
  
  After our initial discussions with you about your needs and objectives, we will develop a design template based on your input. We'll send you a link where you can view the design. At that point, you can give us your feedback on what you like and what you don't like about the initial design.
  
  We allow for three rounds of changes and "tweaking" on the initial design. After that, any further changes to the design will result in billable hourly charges.
  
  Once you're satisfied with the design template and sign off on it, then we begin buildout of the pages to be contained in the site, based on the design template you approved.
  
  If your site requires database programming or other scripting, that will be implemented along the way during the buildout phase, based on your input about the functions needed. You will have the opportunity to review all of the content, scripting and database functioning as well.
• Do you require any payment up front for design and development?
  
  Yes. Before we begin design work on your site, we require 50% upfront with the signed agreement, with the remaining 50% due on completion.
  
  Upon completion and final payment, the entire site is yours. We will take your site "live" on your domain, and ownership and copyright to the site transfer to you. (There may be copyright exceptions, such as purchased scripts used on your site, or standard scripting functions that we re-use.)
