How To Set Up Your E-mail Account in Outlook ExpressAfter you have created your e-mail account in cPanel, you need to configure your e-mail program to access e-mail at that account.
The following instructions are specifically for Microsoft's Outlook Express. Most e-mail programs use a similar process to configure an e-mail account. Step 1: From the Tools menu, choose E-mail Accounts
Step 2: In the Internet Accounts window that opens, click "Add" then click "Mail" ![]() Step 3: Enter your name the way you want it to be shown to people you send e-mails to. Then click "Next." ![]()
Step 4: Enter your e-mail address ![]() Step 5: Make sure POP3 is selected. For incoming (POP3) mail, enter mail.yourdomain.com
For outgoing mail, we recommend that you use your ISP's smtp server. It may be smtp.yourisp.com, or mail.yourisp.com, or some other variation. Many ISPs reduce spam by not allowing "relaying." If your ISP does not permit relaying, then you won't be able to use your domain's smtp mail server for outgoing mail and you will have to use your ISP's smtp mail server. But even if your ISP currently allows you to use a different smtp server, they may disable that ability at some future point and you will suddenly find yourself unable to send mail. By entering your ISP's smtp server here, you will avoid such problems. You can get around this problem by using SMTP authentication to send your e-mails, but it's easiest to just use your ISP's mail server to send mail. Then click "Next." ![]() Step 6: In the "Account name" field enter the full e-mail address for the mail account you created in cPanel. For example, if you created an account named "john" you should enter john@yourdomain.com. Also enter the password you set up for that account in cPanel. Click "Next." ![]() In the next screen click "Finish" and you're done.
